I'm Asha Loupe, a wife, mom, social worker, author, and someone who has learned that life doesn't always go the way we thought it would. Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes it's an absolute disaster, and sometimes all you can do is laugh because what else are you supposed to do?
I never really imagined that I would be sitting here introducing myself as an author, let alone writing a memoir about my life. But here I am, putting some of the most personal parts of my story into a book for complete strangers to read. Which, when you really think about it, is a little terrifying and also kind of funny.
My book, Two Things Can Be True: A Memoir of Hope, Humor, and Everything in Between, is about the things we go through, the things we carry with us, and how life can be both incredibly difficult and absolutely ridiculous at the same time. Because I've learned that you can love someone and still be hurt by them, you can laugh while you're struggling, and you can have moments where everything feels like it's falling apart while still finding something worth holding onto.
I'm not here because I have everything figured out. I definitely don't. I'm still learning, still growing, and occasionally wondering how in the world I ended up where I am.
But I do believe our stories matter, even the messy parts that we don't always know what to do with.
So welcome to my little corner of the internet. Whether you're here because of my book, because something in my story sounds familiar, or because you somehow stumbled across this page, I'm glad you're here.
And if nothing else, I hope you leave knowing that sometimes two things really can be true at the same time.
Meet My Book
Two Things Can Be True: A Memoir of Hope, Humor, and Everything in Between
Life has a funny way of throwing things at us that we never asked for, never expected, and sometimes have absolutely no idea what to do with.
This book is my story. The good, the bad, the heartbreaking, the ridiculous, and all the moments in between.
It's about growing up, surviving things I shouldn't have had to experience, finding humor in places where it probably doesn't belong, and learning that two completely different feelings can exist at the same time.
Because life isn't always one thing or another. Sometimes it's both.
And sometimes all you can do is laugh, cry, and keep going.
